scrap metal, several charitable foundations in the United States have
been scrutinized for their claims in regards to the funds from donated
autos being used to benefit children in need. Keep in mind
though, that unlike cash donations to charity, processing a donated
vehicle has costs associated with it, such as towing and preparation
for recycling, so a vehicle that may be worth $200 or $300 at the
scrapyard will not net the charity more than perhaps $75. Even
still, this can be a worthwhile end of life for your unwanted car.
